What is the difference between 1500 and 1500 hd

Is there still problem with piston slap in the 06? Thanks for the help.
. Ben 0 Posted December 29, So marketing has modified the badging with "HD". Now are there any mechanical differences such as brakes? Yes, larger frame, larger brakes, larger GAWR, larger tranny, larger diff, etc. Forgot, that is the difference between a half ton and larger trucks. Towing a 3K lb trailer actual weight is well within a half ton's capacity.

Anything over 5K lb trailer actual weight will be at the limits of a half ton. I was a little slow posting the response what he said. PaulieK 0 Posted December 29, Thanks for the help, it looks like a for me. Has anyone here driven a truck with the vortec max in it, if so how was the power?

Once again thanks for the help. Posted December 30, Might also want to check with your insurance agent. Perhaps the HD is a way to get a more powerful truck, without the insurance hit. If you are pulling loads with high tongue weight, you would still be better off with a HD. I've got an 07 hd classic. It does have the GVWR of It has the 6. The rear end ratio is a 3. I've used it to pull a seed tender with 4 minibulks in it and it will handle it, but a HD will probably handle it a little better. The HD will be better than a regular when it comes to pulling.

As far as mileage goes I get around 11 with the HD with a lot of country driving where you go a mile then stop then go another mile etc. On highway trips it will get closer to The HD does ride a little better than a HD. I would base the decision on how much towing you are going to do. West Tennessee.
